MS Word (Office 365) has a function to insert alternative text into any photos you add to the document, and it's badly implemented, even for MS.
It 'guesses' what it thinks it's seeing.

If I add a photo that I have called 'Ground Floor Cable Riser', it won't use the description I have given the photo, it'll come up some fucking random description like 'Empty Wardrobe' or similar.

Why, when there's a perfectly good description already available?

The only explanation I can think of is that they're forcing people into adding descriptions (I don't bother my arse) for their machine learning databases.
Pricks. ;)

This is why I don't bother with updating to Office 365, there are always features that is going to piss me off with Cloud based software and that is they are going to add features that I don't want

Pages, Numbers and Keynote for me ;) but LibreOffice isn't bad as a freebie and does, as far as I have found on the ever so rare occasions I started it up, most of what Office does.

Some of the docs I get have Macros, so can't use Libre in case it buggers them. :/

I use and actually bought Word Plus Premium on my lappy, having tried the free alternatives. It's okay but it's clear it simply doesn't have the polish of Office 2007, which I use on my PC.
Office rules, there are no competitors.

I don't know if this is kosher, or if there is a catch to this, like it will only last a limited amount of times/period. The price seems weird considering they used (if true) to sell for a couple hundred quid at a time

It did work, saved myself a few hundred pounds in doing so

EDIT:

My name is Alex and I still use Office 97.
Haha, I use Office 2002 (Office XP) for school work and the like, it works fine with the 2007 compatibility pack. Surprised Microsoft still keep the updates available through Microsoft Update service and the Update Catalogue. :P

Anyhow, I don't like cloud based services as they require an Internet connection and a modern browser to use... I use K-Meleon (Goanna test build 20180203) and it won't work with everything because Goanna tries to follow the standard nicer than other browsers seem to...

Later Office versions (2013 and 2016 particularly) feel the same, lack customisation due to the ribbon system which I personally dislike, and feel like a stepping-stone to trying get people on Office 365 -.-

Office Online is the browser based option, but Office 365 is still a standalone (just subscription based).
A lot of schools use Office Online iirc, since it's relatively simple for them to add accounts for their pupils.

Tbh, I don't know why they don't use Open Office or LibreOffice as an option. :/

Ah, I was quite confused, I thought 365 was the online one! xD

They probably don't use OpenOffice/LibreOffice because most businesses don't tend to use OO/LO, and the fact a lot of schools tend to prefer teaching what is paid-for rather than free and open source options that are almost drop-in replacements, and can be used at home too at no cost, which is completely illogical to me. LibreOffice even has that stupid ribbon system implemented since v5 though at least it is an option :)
