Watched 6 days on Netflix last night its about the Iranian Embassy siege back in the 80's and i thought it was quite good to be honest.

1917 was very intense and moving, often giving you the feeling of visiting hell, which is what it must have felt like.
Not to mention the futility of WW1 and it often reminded me of some Vietnam films where taking a hill simply identified by a number at the cost of hundreds of soldiers' lives, often making no difference whatsoever to the outcome of the war.

I think Dunkirk really didn't get the mood of what has been told of that story

I would have thought it would have been a lot more tense than what was portrayed in the movie. I can only imagine that the Germans would have bee far nearer to the soldiers, but a lot more boats than were put in the movie.

Some of the buildings looked really too modern to pass off as reality as well

The Germans were given a halt order (to consolidate) outside Dunkirk, which bought the BEF three days, so it wasn't a constant push.
