It does, it's defo not 'over' designed. And TBH, that 'box' is designed to create as much passive airflow as is possible and I dig the functionality design over the ps5's mile out look.

This is designed to fuck it behind the back of your telly as if it wasn't there whilst it does its job of being quiet and unobtrusive.

If it were real, well, they have to make it bland enough to make people want a custom PS5. The white tops are interchangeable with other colours and designs, apparently. So not so bland after all

Not a fan of soldered on SSD. Yeah, you can still use a NVME m.2, but they could have used any NVME m.2 in place of soldered on SSD

I was highly impressed with the teardown.
The thermal commponent is very impressive, that fucking heatsink! And liquid metal in place of standard thermal compound.

It looks like they've designed it from a performance and maintenance level up to aesthetics being the last element of design.
Kind of looks bombproof.
But it's still fucking ugly!

The only thing that pisses me off with the PS5, is the soldered on SSD, not good, especially if the NVME M.2 drives don't work and you have to use what only works with the console. Basically meaning, if the internal SSD goes belly up, it's either not going to work completely, or you won't have certain part of it not working

The Xbox series X, has a NVME drive by default. What a shocker Sony

I got one on release day (UK) and it's amazing. Love the experience. In all my years of gaming, the controller is a revelation worth trying for anyone interested in gaming at all.
Astrobot is an absolutely perfect way to introduce it's capability and a must play for anyone.

It's an awful situation and surely some manufacturers must start considering ways to be able to register and purchase for things like this, for an initial release. It doesn't kill them but it hurts their overall reputation slightly. Something like being able to register if you're an existing PS+ paid up user and be able to guarantee a new console, something like that.... I dunno. Sorry for anyone who's waiting on one, I'd say on balance it will be worth the wait. Fingers crossed.
