It's in the 20's here with some humidity, so not that bad. (pissing down tonight though...maybe.)

I had a job on today in Kintyre today and was going to wear shorts (it's a long drive and it looked promising), but it's been pissing down so much near the west coast that the A83, around the Rest and be Thankful had another landslide on Tuesday. A pretty big one that blocked the old drove/single track backup road as well, so added a 60 mile detour.

Going wasn't too bad, but it fucking pissed down on the way back. So a 6hr drive turned into an 8hr drive, with 3hrs on site, plus the misery of a lot of tourists being on the road in addition to the rain. (The frustration of being stuck behind them gets to you, so I had at least three risky overtakes when I should know better by now...they should have been fine, but the turbo lag on this SEAT is fucking ridiculous at times.)

It's currently 28C at night in London, that's the temperature of Southern Spain late September, early October

If Covid doesn't get the elderly, the pavements will.

I'm just nipping out for salt for the old dear now. Had a brainwave last night that dishwasher salt is cheap and comes in big bags.

We had a light dusting this morning that turned to ice but has generally melted now, but more forecast tonight and tomorrow but its due to get milder next week for at least two weeks. There is a SSW ongoing at the moment which may produce some very cold weather at the back end of January but that is hit and miss really depending on other prevailing weather conditions at the time.

We have about 10mm or more of solid ice almost everywhere.
Salt doesn't really make a dent in it.
