Did it never occur to anyone at the BBC that The War of the Worlds has never really been done properly, to the original script?

No?

Bit of a mess this shit...so diluted by period drama and pointless backstories that it's barely recognisable.

I see that they chopped up and burned every swastika they used on the show.

Apparently it was every item of Nazi paraphernalia, not just the swastikas.

You should see the reviews on IMDB, most of which are shockingly bad.

One remake I'd like to see by HG Wells, would be The Time Machine and hopefully not screwed around with.

Was looking forward to this, yet was so disappointing.

I gave it up after episode 2 was so dull and boring!

His Dark Materials is done much better, quite enjoying that up to episode 4 so far (one thing though is that i feel like i have seen it before?)

I quite liked that. The girl who plays Lyra in this latest version is too old. She looks about 14 but in the book is 11 or so

I thought so but it was more the actors/actresses in it that seemed really familiar
Am enjoying it though
Watched episode 12 of My robot last night of season 4 I think it was the end of the whole show quite enjoyed it really.

Season 4 of the Expanse was top notch as expected, I also watched Carnival Row on amazon Prime and thoroughly enjoyed it
The Witcher was very good to didnt have a clue about the story as hadn't played the games or read the books but it was good.

Currently on season 2 of Lost in Space which is okish but not as good as the three mentioned above.

BBC adaptation of Dracula is different almost finished the first episode and i also enjoyed Dr Who on new years day

You can tell i was ill all over Christmas and New Year!

I kept falling asleep during The Witcher episodes, got as far as the episode with the dwarf who has a Scottish accent as bad as Scotty from Star Trek and gave up. (I was already bored of it and he did my nut in.)  :cheesy:

Star Trek Discovery. Taken me some time to get used to, but I’m getting there

Bit confused how they are more advanced than TOS, but it has something to do with some timeline

Picard on Prime started well, but he's the main attraction, so we'll see how it goes.

Watched The Good Place and turned it off...seven episodes later. LOL

I've avoided it for years as lead female funny characters tend to be the opposite and annoying to boot. What a surprise. It's bloody brilliant and genuine laugh out funny.
Ted Danson plays a blinder too.

I watched a few of those when it started then drifted away.

Ted's a total Tefal in it.

I am currently watching War of the Worlds by Fox and Canal it is french and english and a really good twist on the normal story in fact probably the best version of war of the worlds i have watched! some of its in french but does have subtitles but its very tense reallly well shot and the actors are fab in it. Gabriel Bryne is one of them! he doesnt appear in much these days!
