I read that some parts of Australia hit those temps at night....over 50 in the day.
That's mental.

I've had to turn off the radiator in my bedroom.
It must be a psychological thing, but as the temp dips outside I can't sleep if the difference is too large.

It's hard to explain, but the house is normally at 19C during winter, but I can't sleep in that when it's like -7C outside and I end up throwing the covers off.
If I turn off the radiator and crack the window, bedroom temp comes down to about 10C and I can sleep.

Maybe it's programmed in.

I keep my house warmer, but the bedroom does need to be a little cooler. I don't like getting up when it's freezing. That would be 18 or less. That's what happens as you grow older!

The aircon is a luxury in this heat.

Someone spoofed one of my emails

They were trying to convince me that I had some unusual tastes that they saw through my webcam...... :cheesy:

I do have unusual tastes in beer, but it's hardly blackmailing stuff

Me too, and my laptop camera is disabled in Admin and has duct tape over the lens, even though it would not see anything untoward.

Just goes to show that you shouldn't even consider giving them anything, even in bitcoins

Though, one question remains, how did they know of my email? They have clearly hacked Microsoft's database without them realising it

Not even remotely. Wherever they got it wasn't directly from MS. Wasn't there a big third party hack a couple of years ago. One of MS's affiliates?

How many sites have you given your email to over the years? (And how many of those have sold it on or had it pinched?)

My spam folder is full of enquiries to my email address, or a variant of it, so it's not something unusual.

I'm off to Swindon and I really CBA with the drive.

It seems that getting paid to do so makes a huge difference to me.  :cheesy:

The screw should have come with the case...

-

I tried to add my mobile number to my online banking last night. I mixed up the PIN so much - there are four of them and I kept forgetting which I should be using - that I locked up my card reader.
Calling them today I find I have to have a new card and PIN, and go ten miles to big Tescos to unlock the new one. She had no sympathy, the girl.
I just wanted to make my account more secure. Gits.

Just heard some slow dripping from behind me in the living room. A torch revealed a drip from the ceiling below the boiler in the loft. Bugger. My nephew is coming round after work. He had to be on afters this week!

I got new central heating installed today. it's great.

The old system was so buggered they had to turn the flow down in order for it to get hot enough, but now that it's up to full pressure again my shower is magic.

Excellent. All pipes and radiators too?

-

My nephew performed a temporary fix to the leak from my boilers, which is coming because one of the vent pipes had corroded through. Again.

My weather apps all show the highest predicted temperature each day for a week ahead, but whenever I want to go out, like now, it's not the 13deg is supposed to be, that's mid afternoon, it's 5deg and I don't feel like freezing. Nice sunny day though.

The BBC are in a bit of bother up here, for political bias.

A while back Question Time was in Dundee, which overwhelmingly voted Yes in the Indyref and to remain in Europe, but the audience and panel never reflected this, and the same thing happened in Motherwell the other week.
On failed UKIP candidate ranted about the SNP for over a minute and the SNP MP on the panels response was cut to just 8 seconds.
It's caused such a furore that the BBC have had to issue a statement to MP's regarding it.
It was also found that they misrepresented Scotland's financial growth last year by stating that it was the same as the rest of the UK when it in fact was double the growth figure for the rest of the UK.

Apparently we have a new channel here, but I've never seen it and have no intention of doing so.
