Went to see Bohemian Rhapsody last night fantastic film even though i am biased and a mega Queen Fan :)

It's an excellent film, deserved the Oscar.
(The wee touch with Mike Myers as the EMI producer was good.)

I watched Deadpool 2. I really couldn't make head nor tail of it. No idea what was happening.

It's a litany of callbacks, watched it a second time (months later) and it's slightly better.
Story is still shit though.

Tried watching Mortal Engines and that's expensive pish as well....very boring (loads of dramatic music)
.. (might be on the harsh side) but I just don't get the premise.
Predatory Cities roaming around swallowing up other Towns and Cities on tracks....what's the point?
It doesn't even work as an analogy.

It's not a blasted landscape, they run on fossil fuel...which is still in the same places (what's left of it).

Genghis Khan knew the score.
Turn up team handed with a hoard on horses and a load of Infantry, take over the place, then move on.
Tried and tested method of domination, works all the time, every time.

I don't know, maybe he's got so much cash that he's gearing up a team to make something brilliant (again).....and this is just a practise run.

He's reading the wrong fucking books is the problem here.  :cheesy:

Have you tried the books? I've read the first and it was compelling.

I didn't, which is probably why I'm not keen on it.
Seems like a teen thing again (the princess and the pauper)...with giant moving cities.

Glass

Not quite sure what to make of this, it's a bit weird.
DC are doing this Dark Universe thing (and it's the darkest I've seen yet), but it's still pretty weird.
(I have this notion that they're telling kids to try to be superhuman, when it's patently obvious they cant ??)

James McAvoy still does completely nuts well though and he looks like he's done a couple of ton of steroids (which he probably hasn't)

Not bad for DC though

Venom was a bit pants, there's about a single comic's worth of story in it.

Tried watching Dunkirk again, but the music is really annoying.
It's just way too loud and never stops.

Like Family Guys, Distracting Trumpet.

Last 4 months at my local cinema, absolute crap in their theatres. And sometimes showing really old movies. Hollywood is running out of ideas

Highwaymen was pretty good and the combination of Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner really worked for me, with Woody getting the best lines.
I also like the way that you didn't see Bonnie and Clyde's faces right till the end, although their celebrity status would need to be picked apart by a gang of shrinks.
Lovely direction too, with some stunning vistas.

Glam might like this: The Professor and The Madman

...as a movie title, it's taking reductionism to it's limits.

Sounds like a B movie, but it's about the birth of the OED (cast is excellent, terrible title.....Mel Gibsons Scottish accent has improved in the last 20 years as well)

One for Glam maybe.

(He wrote an earlier book about the language of the lowland Scots/E(A)nglish which seems quite interesting)

Watched  The Motorcycles diaries, quite funny in parts. I did understand a bit at least of what they were saying, trying to avoid all the subtitles

A story about Che Guevara early days as a doctor, before he turned into a communist fighter
