[PCF]Falcs

one of my all time fave bands saw them live at donnington 88 when two peeps died in the crowd i was only about 50 yards from them been held up by my sisters partner and moving 50 yards left and right without touching the ground!!!!

Splinter

Long live the 80s!
When Live Aid started I was half way across the English Channel having been press-ganged by my Dad to sail across with him, despite my objections.
He didn't understand how I could forego a Channel gale, seasickness and French cigarettes for a bunch of scruffy singers shepherded by an equally scruffy Bob Geldof.
Still, at least we have YouTube :)

When the video of the cars played during Live Aid, the one showing all the kids, my dad put a fiver on the mantelpiece, asked me and my sister if we would put in our pocket money and give it to Live Aid.

Not the kind of thing my dad would normally do, my mum being a member of the Kirk would regularly give to charity, so that was a real sign to me... There was something big and special happening... My dad...a fiver! The likes had never been seen.

Great story, mate. I don't think my dad would have done that unless it was for ex-submariners, but I digress.
I haven't a clue what she's saying, but that doesn't matter. It's how she says it.

Cripple Creek Ferry

I had this on tape when I was 14.

It was on autoreverse  on a  music centre ('member them?) and would just
keep repeating and repeating whilst I read 'The Hobbit' for the first time. I always imagined 'Cripple Creek' as meaning the Brandywine.
