Tado is a 'smart' thermostat that turns your heating down when you leave the house and turns it back up again when (or slightly before) you arrive.

I think this is a fucking pointless gadget since I can do it myself on the way out and when I get back home....my thermostat is next to the front door.

Personally, I think this is just another tracker/harvester CrApp.

I may be wrong.....but I don't trust this shit (like the 'Smart' Chinese lightbulb my sister got my mother last year that required access to the photos, messages and emails on her iPad in order to control it....(binned!))

-edit- I'm not averse to sharing data if there's a reason for it.
i.e. I use Google Navigation when driving and willing to share my live driving info to avoid congestion (TomTom/Navigon etc. do the same) and I'd regard that as  a net benefit.

All we need really is a programmable thermostat, pointless having every single fricking item in the house based on the IoT, really stupid world

I would never get an IoT device, horrendously waste of time, for the lazy people who like showing off to their nearest and dearest how stupid they are with their money

It's probably going to get weirder, like after the discovery of electricity and radiation when they made electric orgasmotrons and Uranium toothpaste.

Here's one: https://smartnews.laurastar.com/

Featuring hygienic steam, lines on the board to 'aid' folding and an ironing 'coach'

Endgaget from last year lists quite a few others and one of them is the Amazon Dash buttons.......but people have found other uses for them, some more useful than others.
