Title: What are you Playing?
Post by: [PCF]Falcs on October 02, 2018, 09:59:40 AM
For me still World of Warships, World of Tanks, bit of Battlefield 1 and no Mans Sky plus Sea of Thieves

Shadow of the Tomb Raider atm.

It has that old school frustration element down to a tee.
Jump-Die, Drop-Die, Drop & Use Axe-Die, Run & Jump & Use Axe-Die.........look around, spot something you missed-Live

I must have watched her getting chewed up by wolves about 30 times before I figured out it was quicker to hit Reload Last Checkpoint.  ;)

£33 off GreenManGaming the other week.

Rise of the Tomb Raider?
They're quite similar, but i think you can push this one graphically further if you have the right setup.
I'm running it sort of High @ 2440x1440 on a 4K monitor and it looks pretty good.

It looks gorgeous and that's a fact, but those wall jumps can be really tricky until you get the hang of it.It's a darker story which verges on survival horror at times.

I may have mentioned this before, but due to Steam using some weird local currency exchange rate, I managed to get Shadow for US$17 on pre-order which I simply couldn't let pass up.
In fact, I just checked again today and it's still 660 pesos which is getting cheaper every time the peso loses ground to the dollar in the latest financial crisis. Today I could get it for $16.
The last time this happened with another game, a few weeks later they adjusted the price upwards.

FIFA 19, the new iteration of the football franchise

Can’t play FUT within the game until the new internet arrives, unless I want to wait XX  amount of hours of trying to update it

Reinstalled Tribes 2 from year 2000!!! its freeware now and only 500mb i think it was amazing game after 18 years so fast and frenetic!
I remember when it came out we all struggled to play it on max graphics as you needed more than a top spec pc to play it! now it runs a dream on top settings and the fans on my gfx card dont even start up  :cheesy:

Intriguing, I saw a guy on YouTube, and he wasn't so much as playing the game, but just trading players and doing Squad Building Challenges. And he was raking in the coins and getting rare players

been back to tanks a couple of times this week but world of warships, destiny 2 and the walking dead are more favorable for me a the moment. Insurgency 2 does look good mind is it PVE to as that's what i used to play most of with insurgency 1

BF5 as well for me at moment, had to rebind all my keys as normally play Medic using a syringe which is one of the gadget slots. Know it's a bit more tricky i find. Early days. but still a thumbs up from me.
Title: Re: What are you Playing?
Post by: Splinter on December 12, 2018, 12:51:40 PM
I refunded Just Cause 4, as they haven't finished it yet and you can't rebind WASD and other movement keys. The graphics are also crap.
Grabbed Tom Clancy's The Division on Steam at 75% off. I've been meaning to get this game for ages, but waited till they'd ironed out the glitches.
It's tough as hell, with enemies being bullet sponges, but if the cover system is used correctly, you can progress. It also looks fantastic, it's very well polished and performance is silky smooth.

Yeah i played quite a lot of The division when it came out really enjoyed it although it got to a point of a bit of a grind as the enemies were so damned hard but that was in the parts after the main storyline. It was worth getting just for the main storyline to be honest plenty of hours in there so was worth it.

Overwatch.

That's about it.
Tried getting into the new Assassin's Creed but it's shit and far too current for a comfortable cynic like me. Bring back the days when there was no choice but to be a man as the main hero and women were scantily clad and knew their rightful place.

Far Cry 5 is on sale for 19.99 in the steam sale is this worth it? (wooster??)

Aye.
The one wee annoyance I found was that the planes are quite hard to use with KB/M and I needed to use a controller.

The helicopters are fine though and you'll use them more.

Still havent decided whether to purchase far cry 5 it has a lot of mixed reviews on steam
I did love far cry 1 2 3 and 4 though.....
Title: Re: What are you Playing?
Post by: Wooster on December 28, 2018, 07:41:18 PM
It's not as good as 3 was, but on a par with 4 I'd say.
Lots of people base their opinions on the storyline alone, but I always tried to avoid that for as long as possible in 3 and 4 so that I can get tooled up and have some fun before jumping back onto the tracks.

5 is the same, the side missions are the best parts of the game...and there's loads of them.

I've reached level 10 in The Division and the enemies do become less bullet-spongey, now at least. It's great for frantic shooting when you're in the mood and I do like the cover system. I bought it on 85% off when I refunded Just Cause 4, which I may pick up again when it comes down to $5.

Damn far cry 5 looks good am running on ultra and get at least 50fps i cant run the hd textures unfortunatly as they take the vram over what i have on my card :( its still one of the best looking games out there
Enjoyed the intro mission bits got you into the story really well.

Fired up Subnautica again, for the first time in a fortnight....and it's still soooo fucking grindy

If I fire it up again I'm just hitting the fucking console so that I can find out if anything else is worth doing.
The forums always say "go deeper", but it's always just as boring.

So, it's got 24hrs of gameplay in it (i reckon), then it's just more of the same.

Tanks as usual and BF 5 plus some Vermintide II as i got it and the DLC for cheap and quite enjoying it tbh! 4 player co-op PVE hack and slash FPS so quite fun and very chaotic at times!
Thinking of going back to sea of thieves to as i really enjoyed that but wasnt keen on the PVP aspect of it would much have preferred it to be PVE only
Almost finished new Far Cry new dawn to which has been fun to play
Title: Re: What are you Playing?

Picked up the Divison 2 with Chem (old forumite) as we both loved the Division and by god its good as a co-op game only got it yesterday and i think we have racked up about 9 hours already and only just scraped the surface of the game!
cd keys has it for 34 quid which may seem expensive but i reckon we will have  at least a 100 hours on it so thats 30p ish an hour!

Steep, the winter sports game was free on Ubisoft a couple of weeks ago and it's a lot of fun for downhill racing in the snow. Looks great too.
Title: Re: What are you Playing?
Post by: [PCF]Falcs on June 12, 2019, 04:24:26 PM
Was only free for new users wasnt it? i have always fancied that but its soooo expensive

Still heavily absorbed in the Division 2 64 hours so far after two weeks of owning it!!!!
The cpu is struggling but the new gtx 1660 has helped a lot getting 30-55fps on ultra although i do have to wait for textures and map areas to load due to the cpu bottlenecking my system als o have a few crashes to desktop which is a dx12 known issue but am going to try a workaround i have found tonight
Title: Re: What are you Playing?

I finally finished Alien Isolation after 37 hours and a couple of years.
Whilst being the scariest game I've ever played, it's also one of the best, with the Alien genre recreated beautifully. Stunning attention to detail with a constant feeling of menace throughout the game.
Now for the DLCs.

There are some things missing from the Youngblood game. Like the pause option, and progression saves

I think I have a bug that prevents me from going further to a next level. I think I'll uninstall it if they don't sort it out

I put it down to working for myself and the fact that I'm now 53 with no real pension, so I don't have time to waste on gaming.

Last thing I remember from talking with you about Argie politics was the mad woman you hated in her 'Pink Palace'.
In a nutshell, she finished two terms as presi, then a more market friendly man took over and plunged us further into debt and now she's back as vice president, in spite of dozens of fraud charges against her.
You couldn't make it up, although I did in my recent book.

I'm flitting between Metro Exodus, the Grid racing series and a plethora of free games and bargains I picked up at Epic, not to mention some nostalgia with Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Medal of Honour.
But recently I've been a little too weary in the evenings and satisfy myself with a few episodes of The Walking Dead.

COD (Warzone) does have slow updates as Blizzard have openly said they throttle the downloads the best way to update is change the region i generally use the Asia server as have found it better, as to slowing down other programs i havent noticed i was playing borderlands 3 last night with a friend with no issues whilst it was downloading in the background

Keasy pointed out today that Epic are giving you a £10 voucher when you buy a game, but if you download GTA V (free) you still get the tenner, so it's basically a free tenner.

Hmm, I'm not sure if you get it with other free games, but if you don't have it via the Epic Launcher, you could always download it again from there and get the tenner.

I had it modded with Redux and World of Variety before I'd even fired it up and thought I'd broke it, but the Redux Mod takes about 40 minutes to apply.

BTW signing into the Rockstar Launcher was a fucking nightmare.
It doesn't tell you the username is already in use until you do about a dozen 'I Am Not A Robot' Captcha's, so I must have done about 150 of the fuckers before it took (username is a now random keyboard mash), then it wouldn't find the game until I went through the sign in shit another twice and linked the Rockstar Launcher account to the Epic Launcher account.

I had the same experience with that awful launcher. Anyway, I already had GTAV on Steam, but I claimed it just to get the $10 voucher for any game over $14.99.
What I'm not sure about is whether the Epic version (via Rockstar launcher) carries over your previous GTA career or you start again.

I had the no sound  issue on GTA V, which was bloody annoying and involved a bit of googling to no avail.
(Check volume mixer settings, revalidate game files, run DirectX installer again etc.)

What happens is it starts with sound on loading, but just before it hit the first menu screen it goes mute.
The solution that worked for me (and I haven't seen elsewhere) is to go into Settings>Audio>Voice Chat and it comes back on without having to do anything else.

Antiyoy is a fun simple strategy game I'm into all the time. Any one here tried it?

It's a genre I've never really gotten into.  :undecided:

Pretty sure Keasy has been supporting that since the development days.

Still in development and will be forever.
When Chris Roberts started Robert's Industries and was crowdfunded everyone thought he was a hero, the  messiah come from his original PC pedigree for the second coming, a new age of PC gaming, to save us and fully utilise the power of the PC.

Pffft, turns out he's a bit of a cunt.

After all the millions having been donated, will it ever be finished? That's the question most people are asking.

After all the millions having been donated, will it ever be finished? That's the question most people are asking.

The bigger question people are asking is why the fuck they're developing more and more ships when there's already more than enough for the game and enough to drive it's economy in terms of capital ships etc.

Not that those asking the question don't already know the answer, greed.

And the other question being why the fuck did they switch from CryEngine half way through the development to Lumberyard, again not that we don't know the answer, a sweet deal with Amazon and more money in the long run.

Chris Roberts, hero to villain and absolute prick.

Maybe still a good game though am getting the hang of it now but what does piss me off is server disconnects when i have 5-6 deliveries in the hold which took a good while to collect and then bam they gone 2 hours wasted!

It does look good on very high settings mind!

I've lost all interest in it.

Been there since the first ship packs and past caring. The way they're testing early adopters is abysmal. Refusing to refund despite several times being told early ship packs aren't part of a crowd fund

Honestly can't stand CI now, worse than fucking Activision and EA and that says a lot.

Believe me, I've never been so initially hyped for a game.
I'm waiting patiently for Cyberpunk now  :afro:

I just read that Cyberpunk has been delayed again, presumably to time it with the PS5 launch.
I've gone back to The Division and am now almost at level 18, but heck it's a grind and I really need more powerful weapons. Not been into the Dark Zone yet, but maybe I should just to get more rewards.

I'd reinstalled AOE 2 HD version with Steam Workshop texture packs and it got me thinking, maybe I'll buy the definitive edition with it's better automation and pathfinding etc.

So i bought a month of Xbox PC for a quid as it's included among with another HD texture pack.

Got to the Joan of Arc 2nd map and even though I had enough resources it would not allow me to build battering rams or any other seige weapons.

Got frustrated and uninstalled it.  Grrr

@Keasy AOE is Age Of Empires?
Yesterday I played The Division all day, which is the first time I've done that with any game for years. I got completely absorbed, especially since my rank began to rise from level 17, finally getting to 21 at the end, when my eyes were beginning to get tired.
There's is a lot of grinding to level up, but it's worth it, so I've basically been shooting and looting and then going back to the really tough bosses when my weapons have been able to dish out more damage, otherwise, you don't stand a chance.
Having said that, in some boss fights you can use the environment to keep tricking the uber-soldier, by just taking hide-and-seek shots until his damage meter keeps going down. Very satisfying, when you can beat the AI and it thinks you're somewhere else. Naturally, I forgot to record my best bits :(
In between missions, I explore everywhere and have managed to pick up some very useful kit, including some exotic weapons and gear which is worth a fortune in credits or parts.
I have to say that it's one of the best shooters I've ever played and I certainly put the new Corsair M65 Elite mouse through its paces, being far superior to my other mouse. I still don't really see the benefit of the sniper button though, so I'll have to some more fiddling with the software (iCUE).
The thing is, now that I've reached level 21, I'll be hooked on grinding towards level 30, which is the maximum and I haven't even been to The Dark Zone yet.

Ahh but the game only just starts when you reach level 30 Splinter! then the world tiers come into play from 1 to 5!!!
Wont say anymore but i agree i have but a few hundred hours into the game so far also need to finish of the dlc!

I'm on 62 hours so far and it seems like an age of grinding. Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of fun, especially the headshots, looting and levelling up.
What level are you on? And why do you say it only really starts at level 30? And I haven't a clue what world tiers are, as I only play single player, never PVP.
Spoil away, I welcome the info!

I was in the middle of the Police Academy mission, so I couldn't pause due to the nature of the game, otherwise, I'd have had to start again :(
Anyway, it was an easy mission and am now on the way to level 23. Bloody addictive this game.
Catch you at another session, mate!

Edit
Does anyone know what the highlighted symbol represents? Tried looking everywhere to find out.

Started playing Deliver Us The Moon.
I was just bored and installed it out of curiosity, next thing I know two hours have passed and I'm hooked.

I always wanted be an astronaut when I was a kid and it feels like living out that fantasy.
Proper zero and low G, navigating a space station having to twirl around and navigate in the three dimensions.

It's small too by today's standards at 7GB.

I had seen that before and it does look impressive but, reviews kinda slate as being a very short game and at that it supposedly  expands a few hours experience in to a couple more.

Have you played it, is that true?

Back playing Call of Duty: Warzone after nearly a month due to issues with memory. I had to send the pair of memory sticks to the manufacturer. The game didn't play at all with just 16gb. I think most people are using page swap files with computers.

Runs fine with 16GB here.
Not that I play it.

Even with 32/64 and so on disabling page swaps is a bad idea regardless.

Maybe I have too much background applications on my computer, it was using around 5-6Gb before I even launched the game

It's a dynamic process and W10 is good at using RAM then dumping it to a page. There's no game that really needs 32gb. You'd probably still get away with 8gb for gaming, not that it would be snappy.

I'm sure W10 uses more on desktop if you have more ram.

Clearly there is an issue with the dynamic processes of my PC. Unless, I am not doing something right, like a wrong settings, or a setting I haven't done
