While the new iPhone XS looks good I've read an increasing number of issues are arising. Here's another article.

Maybe. The screens on the flagship phones are brilliant. The operation is smooth, faultless and the camera is as good as a £150 snapper from Canon.

My £150 Moto G5 seems to take decent photos.
That pic I took from the top of Ben A'an earlier in the year has had 110,000 views on Google Maps already.

Something that does surprise me is the difference that wearing my reading glasses to use my phone makes.
So....many hundreds of £££'s for a new vadget phone, or put my readers on when using my existing phone for free?

It also galls me that Apple don't recognise currency rates (many other platforms do it as well).
£1000 in their eyes is the same as $1000......so they're treating people like the mugs they probably are if they're willing to overlook that kind of thing.
(£1000 is about $1300)

Aye, it's very poor customer service.

That iFixit site is very good.

I posted that because it was a CBS investigation, not some website I'd never heard of. I have watched a number of that guy's videos. Some of the workmanship in iPhones out of the factory is poor, some of the repairs they do are downright shoddy. Of course he only gets those that fail but even so, it's not something Apple can be proud of since that's what they do advertise as being proud of.

For the first time ever Apple didn't sell out of the new iPhone XS or X Max, and it's looking that way for the XR. There are no shortages, which is a novelty. It's not that they're suddenly begin to produce more. They are selling a lot, but... Maybe the polish has lost some of its regime given the number of complaints and faults found with the first two?

I doesn't look like it's comes with a grammar checking function either.

In two sentences alone: "It has to be compatible and it can't exceed the Mac mini's 64GB ceiling, but it doesn't have to be from Apple and that is always a rather gigantic savings.

True, you're stuck with the storage that you buy when you order and it's not possible to put a greater capacity or faster drive later."

I gave up after that, due to a flash headache.

Over the past few months on Quora there have been quite a few articles from the likes of Forbes. Almost none of them have been good. Sales are falling, prices reduced especially for the FR.
It's clear Tim Cook is losing it. The number of complaints by normally faithful fans are surging.

An expensive plate, spinning increasingly slowly on top of a very long and thin pole.

Sort of ironically, the media still report it as the 'first ever' smartphone and one reporter outside an Apple store yesterday pulled out his iPhone to reinforce his point....and it had a big fuck-off battery case attached to it and still didn't see one of the major problems, despite it being right there in his hand.  :cheesy:

Perhaps the crest of that crispy blue wave is about to break?
I mean, it can't last forever, beautiful as all their products are (and damn expensive).

They've lost around 30% on stock value in the last few months and if you read some of the articles, China have leapt ahead in similar tech but far cheaper.

Probably because they have all the large manufacturers tech specs and production methods now.
Apparently it's not illegal in China to steal intellectual property or commit fraud , unless it's against Chinese people or companies.
(I wouldn't advocate buying a Chinese phone though....they're spyware central....built right in.)

Strange this.

iOS 12.1.3 has been released, but also my iPad has gotten the update

The new Ipad has the usual catchy tune..."blah blah-blah blah 'somethin different'" on the adverts, but is it...really?

They've gone back to square sides, like the old phones, with the added feature of a camera lens poking out the back like an upside down one eyed etch-a-sketch.

Not for me. I don't use mine much. Watching Prime mainly.

I distinctly recall saying (along with millions of others) that the first iPads were just upsized phones...and it wasn't that long ago (2010).

So, it's taken them 8 years to go full circle and back to the square sides.

(Have to hand it to them, it seems longer)

Worth watching this rant from Louis. He runs a busy Apple repair shop in NYC yet hates Apple,  their 'crappy' hardware, the uselessness of Apple's own Genius repair people - and cost, and the fact Apple won't supply him parts. I've watched dozens of his videos.  Apple really are crap.
