All week all the reports have been for downpours here all today. On Friday they were threatening a replay of The Flood. I planned my weekend to take account of it.
We've had not one drop off rain at all so far.
Those meteorologists are not fit for purpose.

And now, when they'd promised it would be full but dry today, it's pouring down. It looks as if they were s day out. I may get wet later. I've no food in the house.

Yeah, a wee touch of normality.

January sales may the  best time to buy a decent air-con for half price.

Eventually, mate.
We have to navigate the hurdles of getting a visa for my other half.

That's what I've driven in the last two days in heavy snow and the car is currently fucked, but to be fair most of the damage was done on the Shiel Bridge to Arnisdale road.
The undertrays of the car had already started picking up snow and ice yesterday, but the gritter was in the ditch just after Shiel Bridge (so the road wasn't clear) and the undertray acted like a big scoop and basically wore itself into four bits.
Due to the snow cover I couldn't tell where the bad bits of the road were and I think I've also busted an engine mount and panned the exhaust in with it grounding against rocks.
I didn't stop to take pictures, since had to maintain momentum on the snow or it would have been a long slidy reverse into a ditch, but this is a part of the road during summer.

Arnisdale is about 15 miles behind that headland you can see and the road gets significantly worse later, so add a foot of snow and ice to that, plus it being a dead end and having to drive all the way back to Shiel Bridge as part of a 5 hour drive home in blizzard conditions and I'm surprised it made it.

Weirdly, I was joking with a Romanian lad in Skye last night that my car would probably do a Blues Brothers when I got home, and it did.  :cheesy:
The most of the undertray panels finally ripped off the car as I was reversing out from the shops just over the road from me.
