Do you think It's A Wonderful Life is a happy film, a feel-good film? I'm currently watching it again, and yet again I feel so very sad for George. I find it's such a nuanced film. When his brother comes home from college, new wife in tow, and he's been given a good job by his new father-in-law, the look George gives as he finally realises all his dreams have gone is one of utter loss. The bridge awaits.
